Plumbing Apprentice

Workhouse Plumbing & Gas is looking for a dedicated Plumbing apprentice to assist our licensed plumbers while improving their own skills. The responsibilities of an Plumbing apprentice include following the plumber’s instruction while on the job, assembling pipes, handling tools, and cleaning job sites.

A successful Plumbing apprentice will be well-organized and detail oriented. You should have good customer service skills, be able and willing to follow instructions, and be prepared to travel to clients’ homes to complete your work.

Plumbing Apprentice Responsibilities:

  • Following the Plumbers’ orders and instructions.
  • Locating and identifying leaks.
  • Repairing or replacing pipes and parts.
  • Determining the right tools and equipment necessary to successfully complete a job.
  • Assisting with preparing cost estimates for clients.
  • Cleaning the job site after the work is completed.
  • Answering client queries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in plumbing is preferred but not required.
  • Skilled at using the basic hand/ power tools of the trade.
  • Willingness to learn on the job and go through training.
  • Strong active listening skills.

This is a full-time position with overtime opportunities.

Starting pay $17.50, negotiable depending on experience.

WHO WE ARE

The owner, David “Morris” Dickens is a former US Navy veteran who served in the Atlantic Submarine Fleet. His background as a machinist and welder lead him into the plumbing field after leaving the military. He has been in the trade since 1996 and holds a Master Plumbing License, Class “A” Contractors License, Backflow Prevention Device Workers License, and a Master Gas Fitters License. He has gained experience over the last 20+ years in residential, commercial, educational, and government facilities.
